I have the following setup at my home; One Mac laptop One desktop PC with a D-Link Airplus G DWL-G510 rev.C Wireless PCI adapter running XP SP3 Netgear WGR614 v6 wireless router the PC has been fine for about 2 years, but over the past few months – When it does connect to the WLAN it kept disconnecting, anywhere from 24 hour intervals, to several minute, even several second intervals. I got errors like 'Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range.

Please refresh the list and try again etc' The only way I could reconnect was to right click the wireless network connection in the taskbar & click Repair. Once it goes through the works it usually reconnected. Other times it just comes back with 'Windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: connecting to the wireless network' – close. Now its got to the stage where it doesnt ever connect at all. When it is connected, the signal strength status is usually 'good' and the mac laptop has never had a problem even further away from the pc so the distance isnt the issue here. Anyway, ive formatted the hard drive & done a clean reinstall of the OS with fresh drivers downloaded from the dlink website, it was good for a while but the problem eventually came back again.:( Just now ive removed it, then seated it into a different PCI slot, still wont connect. I found this discussion: Regarding the same card, same issue from 3 years ago: Everyone suggests downloading drivers from RaLink, all of the links in that thread are now dead and I wouldnt know which driver to d/l from their website: Any ideas?

OK That was epic fail. D/l & install: Ralink RT61/RT2500 Wireless PCI Driver 1.2.0.0 WHQL Windows 9x/2000/XP/XP x64 The utility in the sys tray says 'RaLink Wireless Card – Not Exist' new hardware wizard comes up for network controller, doesnt find drivers etc. D/l & install: Ralink RT61/RT2500 Wireless Driver 2.0.7.0 Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP(x32/x64)/Vista(x32/x64) Same as above.
