In PowerPoint 2008, go to the Slide Show menu and choose Transitions. Click on the Options button (far left of the Ribbon) and check the box for automatically after and then put a time.
A self‐running, kiosk‐style PowerPoint presentation is one that plays on its own. You can use your Mac to make it play from a kiosk or simply send it to co‐workers so that they can play it. If one slide is selected, it affects that one slide. If all slides are selected, you affect all slides.
The 'S' key doesn't seem to do anything in Slide Show mode. There are other keys (like P for previous slide) that work.
